Purposes

Rut Foundation was born from the experience launched by the Babylonian Talmud Translation Project with the aim of broadening the field of research and promoting social cohesion and intercultural dialogue in the Mediterranean area.

The program has among its application tools the creation of collaborative digital platforms, functional to the in-depth study of the evolution of the native language following migratory phenomena and the valorisation of idioms as a means of encouraging intercultural dialogue and the fight against discriminations.
The Foundation aims to carry out research activities, promote studies, research and action research in the IT and humanities disciplines. In particular, through the analysis and study of the Hebrew, Italian and other European and Semitic languages, multilingual digital research programs will be created aimed at promoting social cohesion and strategic cooperation in the context of intercultural dialogue.

Research activities for the understanding and conservation of documentary, linguistic and cultural heritage;

Study and design of advanced technological tools for the large-scale use of cultural and historical heritage;

Development of social impact measurement models in different contexts in order to carry out impact measurement activities for third parties;

Development of innovative analysis models of social contexts, of intervention policies aimed at responding to emerging social needs and the affirmation of human rights, overcoming inequalities in different contexts and discrimination;

Support and consultancy to other subjects who operate in the technological, social, cultural and promotion and affirmation of fundamental human rights fields;

Development and support of public/private partnership models for the analysis, management and solution of social needs, according to innovative methods.

The research activities pursued by the Rut Foundation are divided into different project lines which, although equipped with their own tools and purposes, interact with each other and contribute synergistically to the civic, research, solidarity and social utility purposes of the Foundation. The Rut Foundation is a study and research center dedicated to addressing the critical issues of our time through the rediscovery of the social dimension of scientific research, with the aim of promoting social innovation, increasing the sense of community and communication through programs and projects, at a national and international level, for the purposes of recognition by the European Strategic Forum for Research Infrastructures (ESFRI).
Rut Foundation, through the strategic partnership with the Institute of Computational Linguistics (ILC) of the CNR, participates in the infrastructure of pan-European interest identified by the ESFRI: CLARIN.

The Italian CLARIN Consortium, represented by the ILC, is in formation and is expected to include the main linguistic and literary, philology and computer science universities, as well as groups mainly involved in the field of Digital Human Sciences and in the documentation sectors, of digitalisation and linguistic technologies for the Human Sciences.
